The Lady Baker's Team
With Katherine being away, we thought this would be the perfect time to share a little bit about the individuals that make Lady Baker's Tea Trolley such a great company to work with.
Our tea team has a core group, and a number of individuals whose support and brains help make sure that things continue to run smoothly month after month. Without further ado, we would like to introduce the Lady Baker's Tea Team:
[caption id="attachment_2010" align="aligncenter" width="553"] Our Queen Bee[/caption]
Our Queen Bee is Katherine Burnett. Katherine is a lover of fine china, premium quality teas and good times. She is a mother and grandmother, and has the sharp mind of a businesswoman combined with the ability to make every work day fun. Our business meetings are always conducted with a giant pot of tea and lots of laughter, which keeps things light and enjoyable even when we have a lot to get done. Katherine is always up for trying new things -- whether it be taking part in the ice-bucket challenge or willingly letting her employees use our matchmaking skills to find her a date. She is also an incredible cook, an avid reader, a water-aerobics enthusiast and a rock band groupie (her son is in a band). It is hard to pinpoint Katherine's favourite tea, but we would have to say it is Keemun since she often is sipping a cup of this when we arrive for our weekly meetings!
[caption id="attachment_2011" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Our one and only Jen![/caption]
Jen VanEwyk is our only full-time employee. She is the mother of three, and in her "spare" time she runs a rose hip farm on PEI's south shore. If you have ever placed an order with Lady Baker's Tea Trolley, it is likely that Jen has had a hand in making sure that your order is packaged up and shipped out quickly, or, in the case of stores and cafes, hand-delivered to your front door. She is often serving our tea at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market, and she represents us at industry fairs and festivals. Jen is quiet, humble and kind-hearted, and is a great team-player. We never worry about things getting done when she is around, and her quiet, gentle presence on the Lady Baker's Tea Team keeps the louder, more "colourful" members of our team (read: the rest of us!) in check! Jen's favourite Lady Baker's tea is London Fog.

Chelsy Simpson is a business student at UPEI. She began working with Lady Baker's Tea Trolley last year and has quickly become as asset to the company. Chelsy is the brainchild behind our colourful hip new labels and the writer of our monthly newsletter. She makes sure that we keep up with the times and continue to appeal to the younger generation of tea-drinkers. Chelsy's infectious smile and sense of humour keeps things playful whether we are having a planning meeting, bagging tea for a new order or serving customers at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market. Chelsy's favourite Lady Baker's teas are Chocolate Mint and Scottish Caramel Puerh!
[caption id="attachment_2013" align="aligncenter" width="720"] Our social media manager, Ariana![/caption]
Ariana Salvo is our social media marketing manager. She makes sure that all the latest news from Lady Baker's Tea Trolley reaches you as it is happening. Ariana manages our Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest strategies, and takes care of online customer service. She edits our blog posts and newsletters and makes sure that you know what our weekly Farmers' Market specials are. Ariana received her Master's Degree in Island Studies from UPEI, and has been working in culinary marketing for the past three years. She is an avid reader of historical fiction and a great tea-lover. When she is not helping to promote our teas she is working on her local flower farm. Ariana's favourite Lady Baker's Teas are Peachy Aps and our Matcha latte!
[caption id="attachment_2014" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Our brilliant businesswoman, Tingting![/caption]
Tingting Hu is a former UPEI business student currently working as a Project Officer for the Charlottetown Chamber of Commerce. She joined the Lady Baker's Tea team a couple of years ago while she was still a student, and set to work giving our finances and business plan a complete makeover. Though no longer officially a member of the tea team, we occasionally ask her to join us for meetings because we value her perspective, razor sharp business insights, and dry sense of humour. Her favourite Lady Baker's teas are Jasmine Green and Lady's Slipper.

Aunt Mary is really Katherine's Aunt, but we all call her Aunt Mary. Most of the year she lives on a beautiful farm in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, but fortunately she graces us with her presence for a few brief months every winter, along with her charming cat, Bruce. Aunt Mary is an incredible baker, and all winter the aromas wafting from her kitchen into our meeting room make us swoon. She is a history buff (she worked for the PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation for most of her career) and an active and vocal environmentalist. She is also an accomplished knitter and weaver. Aunt Mary's sharp wit keeps us all on our toes during the otherwise "sleepy" winter season! Her favourite Lady Baker's tea is Lady's Slipper.
