Rustic Meets Elegant for Afternoon Tea

The Charlottetown Farmers' Market certainly has rustic charm with its two-leveled eating area with handmade wood seating and picnic tables. It's very crowded on a Saturday, so for me to suggest sitting there for an afternoon tea may seem rather unattractive to some. But give us an Artisan Market Day on a Sunday, with Christmas music and a warm glow of lights and you may quite enjoy a lovely afternoon tea in a transformed elegant setting. Bring on the damask table cloths, three tiered serving plates, fine china and flower centre pieces, and you may have to pinch yourself for fear you are dreaming!

Our second annual Afternoon Tea at the Farmers' Market on Sunday, December 7 is something you don't want to miss. The elegant atmosphere can be quite magical! All ages are welcome but children must have a mom, dad or grandparent alongside.

Here is our Artisan Market Afternoon Tea menu:

We'll start with the savouries of petite cucumber and mint cream cheese sandwiches along side delicious ham and honeyed butter roll-ups.

Imagine yourself in a British drawing room (Downton Abbey maybe) where you can top our dainty cranberry orange scones with our own Lemon Curd and Devonshire Cream.

Our sweets will melt in your mouth. Pam, of Choc Full of Good, is providing pralines with tea in the flavoured creamy centres. Jennifer of City View Bakehouse will add sweet mini cupcakes. A bunch of grapes will sit midst the sweets. And last but not least, we will bring to you a lovely china teapot filled with Lady Baker's favourite afternoon tea! If you don't know it already, it is the very popular Lady's Slipper Blend, the perfect afternoon tea! (We will have an herbal tea on hand if you would prefer).



Do come and see another side to our wonderful Farmers' Market. Sittings are at 1 and 2 o'clock on Sunday, December 7. Price is $15.00, and a reservation is required.
