Heaven on Earth

This week's blog post is written by guest blogger Martin Rutte. Martin is an international speaker and consultant on spirituality in the workplace. He is committed to reconnecting business with its natural source of creativity, innovation and genius. To learn more about Martin visit his website.

I met Katherine of Lady Baker’s tea several years ago at the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, market. I loved her tea, I loved her energy, I loved the joy she received and the joy she gave through tea.

We’d visit every weekend at the market and I’d enjoy one of her lovely teas. I watched with pleasure at how she grew the business and expanded her product line while keeping quality at the highest level.

Several years later I offered one of my workshops on Heaven on Earth in Charlottetown and Katherine attended. In the workshop we look at what Heaven on Earth is for you and what simple, easy, concrete steps you can take to make it real.

At the end of the workshop Katherine came up to me and said she had no idea what she could do that would contribute to Heaven on Earth. I said, “Katherine, I think it’s simple. Why don’t you make a Heaven on Earth tea?  Couldn’t that be your simple direct contribution to Heaven on Earth?”  She loved the idea.  Several weeks later she told me that she’d created a special tea blend called ‘Heaven on Earth.’

What’s fascinating to me is the teas she included in the blend, and more importantly, why she included them.  Here’s what the label on the back of the Heaven on Earth tea blend says:
Heaven on Earth

"Here are the earth's cultures harmonized in a tea blend where all the flavors marry and complement each other, not one overpowering another and each humbly living in equality.

The enclosed blend was inspired by many people's desire to have Prince Edward Island be Canada's first Heaven on Earth province. Blended with tea varieties of Assam, Oolong, Pai Mutan and herbal Peppermint are sweet rose petals from the south short of Prince Edward Island. Visit www.ProjectHeavenOnEarth.com to learn more!"

In the years since then Heaven on Earth tea blend continues to sell and sell. Such a simple idea with such a great impact. Why don’t you enjoy a cup of Heaven on Earth tea (you can order it on-line or buy it from her at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market)? And, if you choose, you can let it inspire you to contribute in your own unique way to Heaven on Earth!

I’ve created 3 questions (also available at: www.ProjectHeavenOnEarth.com) to help you discover what Heaven on Earth is for you.

Question 1:
Recall a time when you experienced Heaven on Earth. What was happening?

Question 2:
Imagine you have a magic wand and with it you can create Heaven on Earth. What is Heaven on Earth for you?

Question 3:
What simple, easy, concrete step(s) will you take in the next 24 hours to make Heaven on Earth real?
