Feeling Pampered at The Inn at St. Peter's
This is the first season that The Inn at St. Peter's has an Afternoon Tea sitting. Whenever I drive 'down east' as we call it here on Prince Edward Island, I feel a thrill of seeing territory that is so stimulating visually that I wish I had more time to explore. It was a rather blustery day with some rain, then sun, then clouds and rain again. It couldn't be more pleasant knowing that an afternoon tea awaited. My daughter Emily was the perfect tea mate!

The dining area was a soft yellow and the walls were adorned with a selection of bright coloured art. Yellow is my favourite colour! Our view of St. Peter's Bay, even on a cloudy day, was stunning. The mussel traps peppered the surface of the water. I watched the gardener pruning and trimming one of their many gardens while we sat at a window table and pondered the menu.

Jess was the hostess. She brought us each a pot of Lady's Slipper Blend and poured the first cup for us. The loose leaf was put directly into the pot and the hot brewed tea was then poured through the strainer. She brought us an additional carafe of hot water to add to the pot.

The fruit cup was filled with pear, melons and raspberries topped with an edible flower from their gardens.

When I talked with Karen the owner earlier in the season, she said that when she decided to add Afternoon Tea to their meal offerings, aunts, mothers, cousins, grandmothers and friends started donating fine bone china cups and saucers to the cause. So every guest is drinking from a cherished cup and saucer with its own story. I love that.

Thank you Karen Davey for such a lovely experience at your inn, and my compliments to the chef! Thank you, too, for choosing Lady Baker's Teas for your tea service.
And to my readers, if you are in the St. Peter's Bay area, you must stop in for tea. No matter where you are, tea time at the Inn at St. Peter's is a must-do this summer! If you do go, leave me a comment below and let me know about your experience!
