After Labour Day here on Prince Edward Island, we find ourselves a bit in limbo. It's not really summer anymore, and yet officially, Fall is still around the corner and not quite welcome! The arrival of Fall has been more celebratory in the last few years with PEI's Fall Flavours Festival -- a month-long culinary festival highlighting the flavours of Prince Edward Island--both land and sea, and the province's distinctive culture.

Leading the parade of the colourful change of leaves and dramatic, cloud-swept skies, are the amazing flavours that we experience because we live in this 'cradle on the waves', this 'garden of the gulf' that Lady Baker's Tea Trolley calls home.

I am happy to be a part of the Prince Edward Island Culinary Trail, and on September 9th from 4-7, Lady Baker's teas will be on the menu at Feast Alfresco, Lobster Tales in the Legacy Community Garden at the Prince Edward Island Farm Centre. This new Fall Flavours Festival event will be hosted by Chef James Oja of the Orange Lunchbox, and will feature a multi-course meal that highlights seasonal ingredients from land and sea. For the full menu, visit the PEI Farm Centre's website.

After you have enjoyed a bountiful meal of local flavours, sit back and enjoy the golden fall light in the garden while you sip iced blooming blueberry or hot apple spice tea and enjoy live music with Teresa Doyle and fine island storytelling with David Weale.
