Fall Flavours at Lady Baker's Tea Trolley

Summers are so busy for us that time always flies by, so in the midst of getting another large order of tea together for Nutter's Health Food stores in western Canada this week we caught sight of the calendar and realized that somehow it is already the end of August and the Fall Flavours Festival is right around the corner. How did that happen? It seems like it was just June, and now our calendar is filling up with fall activities!

Fall on Prince Edward Island

September on Prince Edward Island is a special time for a number of reasons. The temperature starts to drop a little bit, so there is that early fall edge in the air; many of the summer visitors have headed home for school and work so the beaches and trails feel more spacious again; by the end of the month the foliage is just starting to turn the incredibly flaming golds, crimsons, mustards and rusts that contrast so dramatically with the red soil and deep blue Atlantic, and September is also the month for the Fall Flavours Festival -- one of Canada's top culinary festivals.

This year's Fall Flavours Festival runs from September 2nd until October 2nd, and features signature culinary experiences with Food Network celebrity chefs from Canada and the United States as well as a diversity of smaller culinary adventures across the island. This year's festival includes the Taste of New Glasgow with Chef Michael Smith; Oysters on the Pier with Chef Chuck Hughes; Lobster Party on the Beach with Chef Vikram Vij; Beef n' Blues with Chef Corbin; Mussels on the Hill with Chef Anna Olson; The Great Big BBQ with Chef Mark McEwan; Chefs Gala by the Sea hosted by Chef Lynn Crawford, the PEI International Shellfish Festival and so much more. If you haven't ever been to Prince Edward Island during the festival we highly recommend you get tickets to at least a couple of the events. When you aren't enjoying the exquisite meals featuring fresh local seafood, meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables you can cycle the Confederation Trail which stretches from one tip of the island to the other; take long walks on our pristine beaches; take in some of the terrific concerts or stop at one of the locations that serve our tea for a cuppa (preferably with a slice of apple or pumpkin pie)!!

In honour of the Fall Flavours Festival and in celebration of Prince Edward Island's fall culinary scene, we have a couple of special offers for our customers this fall:

Our first offer is a 10% discount on all 50 and 100g bags of our featured Fall Flavours teas for the entire month of September. This year's featured teas are Blooming Blueberry, Scottish Caramel Puerh, Dapple Apple and Pumpkin Spice. All purchases of our Fall Flavours teas either in our online store OR at the Charlottetown Farmers' Market will receive a 10% discount from September 1st through 30th, 2016.
