Afternoon tea with Lady Baker's lemon curd
“One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating.”― Luciano Pavarotti
I would like to suggest that you follow Pavarotti’s advice and devote your attention to eating Lady Baker’s Lemon Curd. The pictures speak for themselves.

Curd is a creamy custard-like spread made from juice (usually citrus, such as lemon), sugar, butter and egg yolks; the ingredients are cooked together until the mixture thickens. Lady Baker’s Lemon Curd can be found in 170ml jars on my online store and at the Charlottetown Farmers Market, Jewell’s Country Market, Balderston's Farm Market, The PEI Co. Store, Emmet and Ellies, the Showcase Gallery, Liquid Gold (in PEI, NS and NB) and Moonsnail. Acadian Maple in Nova Scotia stocks it too.

You can go way back to find recipes for lemon curd. Back in the early 19th century it was called lemon cheese, and it was generally used for lemon cheese cakes which we might call lemon tarts.
Traditionally in British style, Lemon Curd is enjoyed on scones with tea time.

I also love to serve it as a special dessert. Scoop vanilla ice cream onto a ginger snap and top with curd. Ginger and lemon are great friends and this looks classy too. You can crumble a gingersnap and sprinkle on top for added compliments!
Fill mini tart shells with curd and top with a seasonal fruit. This is especially impressive on a dessert buffet.
Spread it in a pound cake layer or dab a bit on a shortbread cookie. Fill a jelly roll with Lemon Curd and fresh raspberries.
Greek yogurt is phenomenally more delicious with a dollop of Lemon Curd. Wow!

So, what ways can you use Lady Baker's Tea Trolley Lemon Curd? Licking from the spoon is perhaps the most popular!
