Afternoon Tea at The Inn at St. Peters
People ask us all the time where they can enjoy our teas other than the Charlottetown Farmers' Market. In response, we have added a list of all the spots that sell and serve our tea across Canada to our website. We also get a lot of customers asking if we have any afternoon tea recommendations on Prince Edward Island. There are a number of beautiful locations that serve afternoon tea on Prince Edward Island. One of them is The Inn at St. Petters in Eastern PEI. The Inn at St. Peters is a 4-star Inn located on a secluded property on Prince Edward Island's north shore, with spectacular views of St. Peters Bay. The Inn sits on 15 acres, and is surrounded by beautifully tended gardens. The Inn has a beautiful restaurant open to visitors and guests, and also serves afternoon tea from 12:30-3:00pm, Wednesday through Sunday from July 6 to September 4.
There is something about the Inn at St. Peters that makes visitors feel like time has stopped. The only sounds are birdcall and the breeze moving through the gardens outside. If you have the time, we highly recommend making a reservation and spending a few nights in one of the inn's cozy, peaceful rooms.
But if you are planning a day trip to the area to stroll along Greenwich National Park's pristine beaches or hike or cycle along one of the most dramatic stretches of the Confederation Trail on Prince Edward Island, make sure that you make a reservation for afternoon tea.
Inspired by traditional English teas, The Inn at St. Peters serves Lady Baker's Tea in fine china tea cups with Inn made scones, sandwiches and pastries, which you can enjoy while you watch the fishermen harvest mussels on the bay. Tea is $24 per person, and the menu includes:
A Choice of Lady Baker's Tea
A Seasonal Fresh Fruit Cup
Victorian and Cranberry Scones with Devonshire Cream and Jam
Finger Sandwiches-Egg Salad, English Cucumber and Watercress, Chicken Breast with Spicy Mayo. Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese
Creations from the Pastry Chef
The tea and food are delicious, the surroundings are elegant, and the service is exquisite. Being able to enjoy a view of the deep blue bay while you enjoy sip your cup of tea and indulge in treats from the Chef makes this an experience that you don't want to miss this summer. After tea, make sure you take time for a stroll through the gardens before heading back to town.
If you haven't already made a reservation, we have a little treat for you: The Inn at St. Peters has generously given us a gift certificate for afternoon tea for two to share with you!
